Ozeri Nouveaux Electric Wine Opener Review
Electric corkscrews are often great ways to open a bottle of wine. The process usually is a matter of holding the opener above the cork (after you have cut or removed the foil) press the button and voila the cork screw will pull the cork out of the bottle. No need to struggle to yank the cork out with all your strength. The Ozeri Nouveaux Electric Wine Opener is a great example of no hassle cork removal.
Clad in a sleek plastic body the Nouveaux has a classy look that looks good in almost any kitchen. Ozeri, the manufacturer claims that the electric motor can open up to 40 bottles per charge–which could be many weeks for most avid wine connoisseurs who use it at home to open several bottles a week. The top of the opener comes off and doubles as a handy foil cutter that replaces the need for a comparatively clumsy knife or other gadget. Once you have removed the foil, just place the opener over the bottle and press the “down” button this will pull the cork out. Once you have completely removed the cork, pressing the “up” button will reverse the direction of the corkscrew so that the cork easily drops off.
The actual corkscrew is visible though a clear plastic shield that helps stabilize and guide the corkscrew while in use. What’s really neat is the the blue LEDs that light up when you activate the opener, giving a little light show to entertain you and your guests. The corkscrew itself can open both natural and synthetic corks which make it great for opening a variety of different wine bottles in both home and restaurant environments. The Nouveaux is also small enough to carry or pack away for use at a picnic or on the road.
Unlike other electric wine openers which usually need a charging stand of some sort, the Nouveaux’s internal battery is charged with only a small power cord/adapter. Apart from occasional charging session the opener is completely wireless.

- Simple operation makes removing a cork from a wine bottle simple with a push of a button
